Craft Beer
Acoustic Ales Experiment You'll Hop Your Rye Out Hoppy Rye Porter, 7.75% ABV Brown Porter
Acoustic Ales Brewing Experiment San Diego, CA. A fairly substantial English dark ale with restrained roasty characteristics.
Alesmith My Bloody Valentine, 6.66% ABV American Red Ale
AleSmith Brewing Company San Diego, CA. Released shortly before Valentine?s Day, My Bloody Valentine is the red-blooded cousin of our Halloween specialty ale, Evil Dead Red. Caramel-sweet malt is delicately balanced with floral American hop varieties for a truly unique drinking sensation. A deep mahogany red color and a big, aromatic hop profile are the signatures of this seasonal ale.
Ballast Point Pale Ale, 5.2% ABV Kolsch
Ballast Point Brewing Company San Diego, CA. There's no wonder why our Pale Ale is so popular?it is skillfully crafted in the style of the Kolsch beers of Cologne, Germany. We've chosen German hops for aroma, and rounded out the recipe with a blend of American and German malts. While it is very much like a pilsner, our Pale Ale is fermented at ale temperatures, giving it a subdued fruitiness?a perfect compliment to the crispness of the wheat and maltiness of the Munich malt. If you like a lighter brew but also like the complexity of craft beers, then our Pale Ale is for you.
Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, 7.0% ABV American IPA
Ballast Point Brewing Company San Diego, CA. The Sculpin is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. It showcases bright flavors and aromas of apricot, peach, mango & lemon. The lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup 2010 in the International Pale Ale category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the tastiest. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.
Belching Beaver Me So Honey, 5.5% ABV American Wheat or Rye Beer
Belching Beaver Brewing Vista, CA. Refreshing wheat or rye beers that can display more hop character and less yeast character than their German cousins.
Benchmark Oatmeal Stout, 4.8% ABV Oatmeal Stout
Benchmark Brewing Co. San Diego, CA. Rich and creamy, this beer is a mouthful that can satisfy any beer lover. The flavor is chocolatey, roasty, and reminiscent of coffee with cream. The oatmeal provides a luscious body while the roasted character helps create a clean finish. Awards: Gold Medal GABF 2014 in the Session Beer category
Mike Hess Copper, 6.5% ABV American Amber Ale
Mike Hess Brewing San Diego, CA. Like an American pale ale with more body, more caramel richness, and a balance more towards malt than hops.
Modern Times Blazing World, 6.8% ABV American Amber Ale
Modern Times Beer San Diego, CA. Like an American pale ale with more body, more caramel richness, and a balance more towards malt than hops.
New English Dragoon, 6.9% ABV American Amber Ale
New English Brewing Company San Diego, CA. Like an American pale ale with more body, more caramel richness, and a balance more towards malt than hops.
Stone Japanese Green Tea IPA, 10.1% ABV Imperial IPA
Stone Brewing Co. Escondido, CA. Bryan Baird of Baird Brewing Company, Toshi Ishii of Ishii Brewing Co., and Mitch Steele of Stone Brewing selected hop varieties for this beer that would blend well with Japanese sencha green tea, and I think we succeeded. Heavy doses of Crystal and Australian Helga hops, accompanied by the Aramis variety from France, provide a wonderful, spicy, and fruity hop character that blends exceptionally well with the herbal and grassy sencha tea flavors. The very late addition of Japanese Sorachi Ace hops provides hints of citrus and dill. Aside from switching out the Pacifica hops for Helga hops, we kept the recipe the same.
