The conversation went something like this: “Hey – let’s build exactly the sort of place where we’d want to hang out.” The food should be delicious, inexpensive, and a hell of a lot of fun to eat. The beer list should celebrate craft brewers and microbreweries. Our wine list ought to be comprised of varietally-correct, terroir-driven selections that are interesting and affordable. And we’ll open it in the beautiful King William neighborhood, in a converted old Sunglo gas station (with a great big open patio). And, well, that’s what we’ve done. We’ve built The Monterey as a place for our fellow food lovers, beer nerds, and wine geeks. And we hope you’ll come join us at our sweet little addition to San Antonio.
