Romeo's Pizza was named the "Best Pizza in the Midwest" and represented the entire United States of America at the World Pizza Championship in Italy. The pizza that won is called The Butcher Shop, which has pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ham, and bacon. This was quite an honor, however, Romeo's Pizza wasn't finished winning awards.
The year 2004 marked an incredible year for Romeo's Pizza. In February, Romeo's competed once again for the "Best Pizza in the Midwest" and won for the second time in three years. No other pizza shop has won this award more than once, so for us to win it again was an incredible feat. In October 2004, Romeo's Pizza competed in an invitation only competition held in New York City called America's Plate. Romeo's won first place with the "Best Gourmet Pizza in America". This pizza is called the Great Ranch and Potato pizza featuring Romeo's homemade ranch bacon sauce, provolone cheese, spicy crumbled sausage, caramelized onions, roasted red potatoes topped off with ranch flavored almond slivers.
