Frederick Lesort has been in the NYC restaurant business since 1985, when he moved to the Big Apple from his native Paris. His restautants include Opia, Matisse, and Frederick's. With Plein Sud, Frederick aims to provide for a more causual, neghborhood-friendly atmosphere, while still providing top-quality French dining in an intimate atmosphere. Plein Sud is a French brasserie, opened by Frederick LeSort, located in the Smyth Hotel in the heart of Tribeca. The restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon and dinner, as well as weekend brunch.
