What happens when three of South Florida’s biggest players in the restaurant & nightlife industry come together? An eco-conscious restaurant is born that provides late-night comfort food that not only satisfies the palate, but also minimizes the community’s environmental footprint.
Kapow Noodle Bar! is the latest endeavor from South Florida restaurateurs Scott Frielich, Vaughan Lazar & Rodney Mayo located in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park. Kapow Noodle Bar aims to be one of the most exciting new restaurants in the area with a blend of unique “Asiatic” cuisine with some French Vietnamese flair.
With fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, Kapow is set to be an industry innovator led by Executive Chef Roy Villacrusis and his hand-picked team committed to making Kapow’s signature dishes impeccable, totally fun and gastronomically addictive. Dishes like Poached Lobster with Truffle Cream, Vegetarian Pho and Crispy Duck Steamed Buns are bound to make taste buds dance. Modern takes on classic main dishes include a pan-seared scallops with lychee and coconut milk, remarkably tender marinated skirt steak with a blend of Asian mushrooms and a yellowtail snapper with black Vietnamese rice and straw mushrooms. Villacrusis is the current Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival’s Grand Chef Throwdown Champion and was also voted “Best Chef” in Palm Beach County.
Owner and designer Rodney Mayo, brought Kapow’s Indochine vision to life in the Mizner Park space. A 28’ painted mural, exposed steel beams and reclaimed redwood siding add intimate warmth to the 1,600 square foot room. Mayo also outfitted the room with reclaimed wood tables and a bartop made from sorghum straw. The 25’ bar opens up to the outside patio where there will be communal seating under the stars.
