Hot Flow 60
Time: 6:00 am - 7:00 am; Instructor: Sarah.
Hot Flow 75 with Live Stream
Time: 9:30 am - 10:45 am; Instructor: Arianna.
Hot Stability 60
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm; Instructor: Elizabeth D.
This Hot Flow class is 60-minutes long and is a great way to begin practicing Flow classes. Traditionally called Vinyasa, it is a class of continuous movement where you seamlessly transition from posture to posture, synchronizing the breath with every movement. This class, like our Stability class, also follows therapeutic sequencing, however the sequence will subtly change from class to class, depending on the teacher. The class is heated and builds in succession, one posture preparing the body for the next. The Sun Salutation, a series of poses that create the foundation of the class, defines the flow.
Hot Flow 75 with Live Stream
This Hot Flow class is 75-minutes long and is a great "next step" in challenging yourself in Flow classes. It offers a more vigorous experience of certain segments of the class. This class will be live streamed to a private HHY group. You will be asked to sign a video waiver.
Hot Stability 60
This Hot Stability class is 60-minutes long and offers one set of each posture. It includes a distinct and therapeutic sequence of postures practiced in a heated room. It is considered a stationary sequence, which means you come back to a stationary standing posture, Mountain Pose, between other postures. The alignment principles that organize Mountain Pose are the alignment principles that structure every other pose. These principles, collectively termed Vertical Stabilization, form the foundation of the class. This slower-paced, detailed-alignment style of class is ideal for beginners, but equally appropriate for intermediate and advanced students. The sequence of postures in our Stability classes doesn't change

Candlelight Hot Stability 60
This is a heated, 60-minute class teaching the Hot Stability sequence. It begins with a 10-minute period of lightly guided, silent meditation. After the meditation, the class is taught in a follow-the-leader format with minimal instruction given. Candlelight and music are utilized to evoke a deeper sense of feeling and grace, allowing for a more intuitive experience. Attendees should attend at least 10 Hot Stability classes before trying.
Level 2 Hot Flow 75 with Live Stream
This Flow class will challenge your body and mind with a variation of lifts, binds, and inversions -- truly taking your practice to a new level. Speak with an instructor before trying. This class will be live streamed to a private HHY group. You will be asked to sign a video waiver.
Teacher Training
Hot House Yoga is a Yax Yoga Concepts certified studio.
All of our teachers have been trained and hired from Yax Yoga Concepts Teacher Training Certification Programs. We also encourage any students who have a desire to deepen their practice and understanding of these ancient teachings to participate in a Yax Yoga Concepts training. These trainings create high level, inspiring teachers that are the hallmark of Hot House Yoga studios
Yax Yoga Concepts is certified through Yoga Alliance to teach 200-hour and 500-hour level teacher trainings.
Having studied with masters from many spiritual traditions as well as the many great teachers from the Hot Yoga and Vinyasa lineages, Yax Yoga Concepts' focus is to develop powerful people into inspiring teachers. With over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, the teacher training programs are designed to provide an in-depth exploration into the process and science of yoga. The programs are physically, mentally and spiritually challenging, but because we cannot teach where we have not been, this work is necessary to develop ourselves into effective, heartfelt teachers. Yax Yoga Concepts teacher training programs offer the opportunity to dive deep into the practice of yoga and the fulfillment of sharing the path with others
200-Hour Teacher Training
The 200-hour Teacher Training program explores the process and science of yoga. It is designed to transform passionate students into powerful teachers. It has two main intentions. The first is to teach the core principles of yoga and how to implement them into daily life, positively shifting the way we live and how we perceive our world. The second is to develop within each student the key attributes of a teacher. We've designed specific training drills that dramatically accelerate that learning process. Upon graduation, you'll be able to confidently lead group classes through two systems, Niyata (Stability) and Vinyasa (Flow)

We must be willing to live in accordance with the principles of yoga if we desire to teach it in the most authentic and healing sense. Understanding and applying these principles, we develop the skills to step into our classes, and our lives, with open hearts and clear minds. How we teach becomes a representation of who we are, how we live, and the love within us

Travel Tips
Sometimes plans change; travel insurance is always recommended for overseas travel.
We highly suggest flying into Liberia versus San Jose on an early morning flight.
Travel to Blue Spirit involves not just the flight but also a two-hour vehicle transit to the resort. Vehicle travel from San Jose to the resort is double the length in time and can be more costly than transit from Liberia
Schedule a bit longer of layover stateside to allow yourself plenty of time to navigate through the airport to catch your international flight.
Each departing passenger must pay a $29 departure tax at either San Jose or Liberia airport before exiting Costa Rica.
It can be paid in cash in US dollars, Costa Rican Colones or with a credit card. We highly suggest having cash on hand to pay the departure fee. Travelers will not be granted permission to leave the country without the tax being paid
Partner up with other travelers to group together for the shuttle reservations to and from the resort to the airport.
Advanced reservations are required and can be found here
Travel with duplicate copies of your passport, driver's license and other personal documents just in case.
Blue Spirit provides eco-friendly hair and bathing products to use during your stay.
We also suggest eco-friendly sunscreen and insect repellent
Summer weight clothing is suggested along with a long sleeve shirt for the cooler evening and mornings.
Follow along with Yax Yoga Retreats on Facebook by liking us here.
Complimentary wireless service is available throughout the Main Building and all accommodations except for Eco-Cottages and Platform Tents.
For your convenience as well, there is a single computer station located in the Lobby

At Hot House Yoga, we teach two styles of Hot Yoga: Hot Stability and Hot Flow. While each style is distinct and unique in nature, they complement each other and are designed to be practiced together to create optimal balance. Both our Stability and Flow classes are structured around a methodology called the Therapeutic Vision. This method of sequencing is what creates a healing, sustainable, life-long practice. It’s based on the anatomy of the body, specifically related to lines of connective tissue, known as myofacial lines, which have both movement and postural functions. The Therapeutic Vision’s specific emphasis is to sequentially strengthen and stretch each one of these lines so that they can properly perform their intended function. The inability of these lines to perform their functions creates imbalances throughout the entire body.
