Christina and Teresa, sisters, grew up dancing and teaching in the Dallas area. Combined they have over 40 years of teaching experience and more than 17 years at Footlights. They purchased the studio in 2017 and are excited and grateful for the opportunity to shape and grow young dancers in this community. Love our Footlights family!

What Makes Us Different?
People often ask me "How is Footlights unique?"
Footlights Dance Studio provides high quality dance training in a loving, supportive and Christian atmosphere. We have a consistent, highly trained, professional and caring staff and owners who are committed to their families.
Christian atmosphere
Our staff is focused on your child's heart, just as much as their technique! We provide quality dance training in a loving, supportive and Christian environment. This includes choosing costumes and music that are appropriate. We strive to be the best role models for our dancers that we can be!
Consistent, professional and caring staff
Our staff is HIGHLY trained in their technique and styles, strong performers, great teachers and have a heart for children!
Technique in Addition to Choreography and Performance
We believe in working to produce a WELL-ROUNDED dancer and having fun in the process. We don't just want our dancers to learn a routine to perform, we want them to have the techniques to be able to continue dancing as long as they want in many settings.
Teachers cover specific techniques, basics and work towards more advanced moves.
We use the correct terminology - even with our little ones! - as well as imagery and fun phrases. We work on flexibility, strength, coordination and grace in addition to a vocabulary of moves. We work on dances and combinations and produce a short Christmas combination that is shared with parents prior to winter break and a full routine that is performed in the year end recital.
When working on these routines
We encourage strong performance techniques, facial expressions and more through both repetition and "sharing" our dances with other classes and parents as it gets close to the big day!
Most of all, they should enjoy what they're doing.
Childhood moves SO quickly - especially in today's fast paced society. We want them to have fun while they're learning and always keep in mind the age, level and personalities of our dancers. We do have intermediate/experienced classes and advanced levels, as well as, competitive teams for those who have more specific dance goals or enjoy a competitive environment.
