Encore opened it's doors in 1994 under the direction and ownership of Michelle Davis.
We were located on Beach Street and Western Center Blvd. for 10 years. In 2004 Encore Built a new beautiful state of the art facility in Saginaw. Our school has two spacious dance rooms with a state of the art sound system, large wall to wall mirrors, and a wooden sprung floor to prevent injury to our dancers. Our school also has ample parking, a spacious lobby and houses a dancewear boutique for all your dancewear needs. We are conveniently located off main street in Saginaw behind the Walgreens.
Since 1994 almost 5000 students have taken dance classes at our school.
We started as a very small studio, but have grown to become the largest dance school in the Northwest area.
Encore School of Dance offers a wide variety of classes for children of all ages. Currently we are offering Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Pointe, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Drill Team and Private Lessons. At Encore teachers try to emphasize as much as possible on technique, terminology, safety, discipline and most of all fun! Our Philosophy at the studio is that we realize that you or your child may not have the ambition to become a professional dancer. However, it is our belief that a well disciplined dance class will prove to be invaluable. We will teach proper technique and correct terminology to maintain our high standard of training.
Ballet
As a foundation for all dance, ballet is extremely important to the strength and progress of a dancer. Recommended for all students.
Competition Teams
By invitation only. This is a committed group of dancers and cheerleaders who take 4 plus hours a week in their team focus in preparation for competitions and performances around the state of Texas and Oklahoma. You must be recommended by your instructor to take this class.
Creative Movements
The creative movement program covers rhythmic coordination, simple exercises, development of large motor skills, counting, singing and make believe. Students will learn basic ballet/tap positions and dance hand positioning. This level of training provides the child with a social outlet, exposing the child to the experience of taking instruction from a person other than their own parent. This discipline of dance training also aids in the development of the child's attention span. They will learn poise and staging while developing self confidence and a love for dance. They will also work on an end of the year routine for the recital.
Drill Team Prep
Drill Team classes are designed to help students prepare for middle school and high school drill teams. The class covers proper stretching, splits, kicks, and technique, as well as several different styles of dance.
Hip Hop
This high energy class is an integration of jazz and popular hip hop music and style.
Jazz
Jazz takes the technique of ballet and the rhythm of tap and includes expression, athleticism, personality and style.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a type of dance that developed out of the fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz. It incorporates the fluidity and grace of ballet and modern while emphasizing the emotion of jazz. Lyrical is a movement which expresses the lyrics of a song or the mood of the music.
Mommy & Me
Mommy and Me This is a class for children 18 months-3 yrs. old. It is a 30 minute class and they take it with their Mommies. They will be moving the entire 30 minutes to music, while working on rhythm, beats to the music and learning hand and eye coordination.

Recital Information
The 2013-2014 Recital will be held on June 13th & 14th, 2014 at Will Rogers Auditorium.
Throughout the year, the classes will work toward the common goal of performing in a Recital.
We feel the recital will showcase the accomplishments of each student. It is non-mandatory, but offers a way for all of us to be proud of our hard work.
For more than eighteen years, Encore School of Dance has provided students with an exciting performance experience through its June recital.
The recital offers our students a professionally directed performance that allows them to present to their families and friends the results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress.
A big part of dance training is learning through performance.
Although performance opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, they also contribute to children’s success in non-dance activities. The performing experience helps build self-esteem and self-confidence and can result in better in-school presentations, improved social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job opportunities.
The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well.
It helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of working as a team to create the best end result.
Dedication to recital commitments is the responsibility of both students and their parents.
Please Note:
In order to give everyone an enjoyable recital experience, by keeping the length of our show down, we hold three separate recitals. Dancers with more than one class or families with more than one child will more than likely dance in all three recitals.
Costume Information
Costume Information
The payment of the recital costumes will be due by December 7th. Costumes will be ordered in December and take several months to be made. Costumes will cost between $62.00 - $81.00 each. Once costumes are ordered, fees cannot be refunded.
Recital Fee
Recital Fee
The recital fee makes the spring recital possible for your dancer. It is applied towards recital expenses and eliminates the need of having to charge admission for those who attend the show, including family and friends. The recital fee pays for the rental of the auditorium, sound and lighting technicians, stage directors, awards, stage props, insurance, backdrops, programs, security, backstage assistants, etc.
(Recital Fee is due by February 8th, 2014)$80.00
