Though at the time being a partner in another restaurant, a large FOR LEASE sign in the window at 609 main caught Pete’s eye as he drove past. Pulling into an open space he called the number on the sign and made an appointment to see the space and it was love at first sight. Though much work needed to be done to transform the existing premise into what he and life partner Kelly envisioned, they could see the potential of a great addition to the downtown area. Pete Franklin, a career restaurant man, and Kelly Remily, a speech language pathologist, had remodeled and opened a restaurant on Sheridan Lake road in the spring of 2006. Sunset Grille was a great success, but Pete longed to be downtown. After some months of reconstruction, Pete opened Delmonico Grill in the spring of 2007. This was the opportunity and Pete’s vision for Downtown Rapid City has proven successful. With an emphasis on service and atmosphere, Pete, Kelly and their dedicated staff work hard everyday to create a special experience for every guest that dines with them. Pete has some great help in the kitchen, but is the executive chef and cooks on the line every night the restaurant is open, with rare exceptions. Kelly treats everyone who comes through the door as if they were coming to her home for dinner. With a dynamic wine list that is ever being updated, fantastic quality hand-cut steaks, fresh fish, and lamb are the staples of the menu. With jazz music on XM, and original jazz paintings on the walls, the feel is casual fine dining. That’s Delmonico Grill - casual fine dining. We look forward to you coming in and experiencing Delmonico Grill with us!
