Opened in 2001, Chestnut has evolved into a close, family-oriented restaurant with an ambiance and level of service that goes beyond good food. The restaurant, and now the new bar, both operate in a holistic way, with Chef Eardley setting the tone in the kitchen with clean food fresh from the farm, served by an enthusiastic team.
The new bar is “refined rustic” – both an expansion of all Chestnut embodies, as well as a place for people to wait for seating in the main dining room. The warm brick, tiled ceiling and thoughtful décor provide a place where locals and visitors can relax all night or wait for a full dinner inside. Many of the pieces in the room are reclaimed items; from the salvaged iron Chestnut tree cut-out on the front wall to the bar’s chairs. Chestnut received the Sustainability Award from the StarChefs 2007 Rising Chefs Awards, and this only adds to the restaurant’s eco-friendly commitment.
