Farm-fresh herbs and produce from our on-property organic garden, local growers and farmers’ markets ensure the most flavorful ingredients possible in Chef Kelly’s creations. Married with Chef Kelly’s classical cooking methods, this yields imaginative, regionally-inspired dishes with emphatic flavors. Named after Kelly’s Italian grandfather, Primo is the creation of James Beard Award-winner Chef Kelly and her partner, husband and pastry chef, Price Kushner, previously head chef and pastry chef at the celebrated Old Chatham Sheepherding Company in upstate New York. They left Old Chatham Sheepherding Company to found their first restaurant, the free-standing Primo in Rockland, Maine , and then later opened Primo at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida. While the menus at each of their restaurants vary, they share locally inspired, original seasonal creations. Fresh, quality ingredients are the foundation of the award-winning cuisine of Primo. Our chefs partner with local growers and farmers to search out unique, fresh and organic produce and meats. In that spirit, and with Spring upon us, the Primo Garden is readied for a rich harvest of herbs and vegetables to be used in our kitchen. The Primo Garden has been designed in traditional Italian style along the hillside, terraced to capture sunlight and moisture. This year we expect to plant a variety of greens, herbs, artichokes, chiles, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, melons and beans.
