Gymnastics Curriculum
Pre-School Program
The Pre-School Program creatively introduces children (ages 3-5) to gymnastics. Classes are targeted towards age and skill levels. This course helps children build strength and confidence in themselves while mastering the basic elements of gymnastics.
Skilled Progressions Program
The Skilled Progressions Program provides hands on instruction for skill development that will increase in difficulty as the student progresses. Students will focus on Floor, Bars, Beam and introduction to Vault. The goal is to ensure that the gymnast is learning all necessary skills to continue to advance in difficulty, safely and successfully. Students progress will be monitored by coaches continuously for consideration to be placed in our Pre-Competitive Training Program.
Pre-Competitive Training Program (by invitation only)
The Pre-Competitive Training Program is designed to prepare identified gymnasts to move into the Competitive Training Program. Students will continue to focus on all gymnastics elements, as well as the implementation of a conditioning program that is designed to build strength and endurance. These students are selected from the Skilled Progressions Program.
Competitive Training Program (by invitation only)
The Competitive Training Program is designed to prepare gymnasts for competitive gymnastics events up to Level 10. The program is structured for the development of the individual gymnast. Level placement will be based solely on each gymnasts ability. Individualism is highly stressed at this level and the athlete will go as far as their abilities and desires will allow. Our competitive team will travel the tri-state area participating in tournaments throughout the competition season.

About Our Child Care
Carol Leone Child Care provides full day care for children starting at the age of six-weeks and continuing through to a full day Kindergarten program.
We are proud to say that both our Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten programs are accredited by the State of Pennsylvania's Department of Education.
Rooted in the philosophy on the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
the Carol Leone Early Childhood Education program is designed to help your child develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally at his or her own pace. We believe that children learn through play, through investigation of the environment and through interaction with peers and adults. We believe that childhood is a happy, vibrant and playful time when children are quite naturally curious about everything around them. Our goal is to help children develop and learn by providing a rich environment that will encourage this curiosity and imagination.
Appropriate resources have been placed in each of the classrooms.
The rooms for three and four year olds are divided into interest centers, where toys and materials are grouped according to their primary learning focus. The CREATIVE CURRICULUM is our guide for this environmental approach. The children are encouraged to investigate and play in centers which include dramatic play, library, sand/water, painting/arts, blocks, small toys, puzzles, science and writing. We also employ the McGRAW HILL CURRICULUM for math, reading and language arts. In addition, the classroom teachers align their lesson plans with the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Infants, Toddlers, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
We encourage each child's physical growth by promoting a well balanced program that allows for physical activity outdoors on our playground or indoors in our gymnastics center.
Each child will have access to our large gym, trampoline and large muscle equipment on a daily basis. We work to provide a clean environment by stressing good hygiene and by providing nutritious meals and snacks.
The intellectual (or cognitive) development of the child is important to us.
Our approach is based on the believe that children LEARN THROUGH PLAY. We believe that children learn by exploring new things at their own pace motivated by their own interest.
Our Teachers plan interesting and challenging activities, and provide appropriate play materials in the learning centers.
Teachers interact with children and ask pertinent open-ended questions in order to help children expand upon known concepts, stimulate their interest and encourage further curiosity, exploration and understanding.
Our goal is to allow children to enjoy being young and to experience the happiest and most joyful childhood possible.
We work to connect with the children where they are so as to follow their lead of understanding to be able to expand upon their interests and affirm their growing self-confidence and mastery of skills.
