Cafe Bink is the “little sister of Binkley’s Restaurant” where exceptional ingredients are prepared with straightforward simplicity. Many of the classic French food preparation methods are used, but Cafe Bink is a modern American cafe serving the best available local and organic products whenever possible. Everything on the French inspired menu sounds fantastic. Pistachio-studded country pate - by definition course and dense - is perfect with buttery toast, whole-grain mustard, cornichons and pickled pearl onions. Uniformly delicious lunchtime sandwiches include Cuban-style pork, wedged between crusty Parisian bread with house-made dill pickle, Dijon, and melted gruyere, and ultra-moist corned beef on a kaiser roll, melting in brown-sugar mustard and sweet mellow slaw. From the dinner menu, roasted shrimp, served in a puddle of mornay with pattypan squash, sugar snap peas, creams grits and soppressata is an unlikely but yummy combo. Don’t miss the crispy-outside, fluffy-inside fries (the very best in town) served with truffle ketchup, aioli, and herbaceous sauce vert. Save room for chocolate mousse and sublime strawberry shortcake.
