The warm weather has all of us dreaming of life on the beauitiful Canary Islands, the magnificent coastline and "White Tower" of Thessaloniki, Greece, and the special volcanic soils that surround Edna in Sicily. We have chosen an array of crisp and refreshing wines from across the world that are perfect for sipping on island time. The I Custodi 'Alnus' is a wine dedicated to hundreds of generations of Etnean winegrowers that have built what they are preserving. The original plan was to make a rosé, but it would be disparaging to just put this wine into a category. It is fresh and sharp-edged like a great white, and at the same time full and comforting as only a good Etna red can be. The Kamara, Stalisma White is primarily the grape Malagousia, and made under the winemaking philosophy that "nature is the real winemaker, man is her assistant." As a result, the wines are extremely aromatic and have a broad range of complex flavor. The Tajinaste Blanco is a blend of 90% Listán Blanco, with 10% Albillo Criollo added for a burst of acidity. The wine has aromatics of tart green apple with that flavor transferring to the palate, and you are left with a pleasant finish that has an amazing feel of salinity. Off The Beaten Virginia Path
$34.00
Virginia is a wine region where there are very few rules and regulations limiting what you can and can not grow, as opposed to other regions of the world where there are strict rules for what grapes can be grown in a certain location. In Virginia, many wine makers have begun experimentation with obscure grape varietals indigenous to regions all over the world. From Pinot Noir comparable to that grown in Burgundy or Oregon, to Malbec driven blends similar to what you might find in the Blaye region of Bordeaux, and Blaufränkisch with a striking resemblance to wines made in Burgenland, Austria; Virginia is a wine region full of uniqueness and promise. Spirit Flights
Agave
$36.00
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila....mezcal? We love agave spirits, but hope you'll be willing to try one of our favorite mezcals, too! For this flight we' re featuring two different aging levels of tequila along with mezcal, which is made from other species of agave plants. Traditionally roasted in huge earth ovens, mezcal often has smokier, fruitier notes that we obsessed over! Gran Centenario Reposado Don Julio Anejo Los Amantes Joven Mezcal
Scotch
$48.00
We love scotch, scotchy scotch scotch, down it goes, into your next flight! We' re exploring the Scottish countryside here, comparing and contrasting Speyside, Highland, and Islay (eye-luh, because we had to look it up) whiskys. Islays are known for being fiery and peaty, Speysides fruity with honey notes (often aged in Sherry casks), and while Highlands can run the gamut, the Quinta Ruban we've picked out has rich baking spices, hazelnut, with rich fruit on the palate. Whiskey
Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led American pioneers and explorers to new frontiers. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making bourbon whiskey the same way for more than 200 years. It is the oldest continuously operating distillery in America. The Buffalo Trace Distillery family includes several brands, lines and expressions that have earned some of the highest accolades the industry offers. This is a rare opportunity to taste bourbons from three of their collections in this whiskey flight!
