Scott and Kimberly Capman opened the first Big Cheese Pizza in Columbia, SC, in 2000. They knew that would be the first of many locations to come. Scott has been in the restaurant business for over 29 years and has owned 14 different restaurants, including multiple franchise locations of a large chain competitor. Those years of experience taught him how to make and sell a better pizza at a better price. From that idea, Big Cheese Pizza became a reality. The motto of Big Cheese Pizza is "Best Pizza - Best Price". These are not just words, but actually the formula to a successful business. Buying fresh ingredients and making the pizza from scratch, keeps the cost of making a pizza low, and needless to say, fresh tastes best! We have to work a little harder, but we think the taste is worth it. Most of the large pizza chains have their dough delivered from commissaries. Their cheese comes pre-shredded in large bags and usually contains cellulose or other additives to prevent it from caking. The taste difference between our pizza and the big chains is huge.
