Aerobic

Mind & Body
many people think that yoga is just stretching. but while stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. this is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. the poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (vinyasa-style yoga) or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. the poses are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the tradition in which the teacher has trained. yoga teachers will often refer to "your practice," which means your individual experience with yoga as it develops over time. the amazing thing about yoga is that your practice is always evolving and changing, so it never gets boring. although the poses themselves do not change, your relationship to them will. anyone can start a yoga practice, even if you don't feel like you are very flexible or very strong. these things will improve the longer you practice. yoga classes are held at the arena district athletic club which is conveniently located in the arena district in downtown columbus, near surrounding neighborhoods including grandview, the short north, victorian village, and german village.

the spinning program is an efficient way to help you meet your fitness goals. spinning classes can be a great way to get in a vigorous workout -- burning calories and keeping your muscles in shape. comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle and a desire to create your own unique fitness experience is all you need to get started. instructors guide participants through workout phases that include: warm-up, steady up-tempo cadences, sprints, climbs, cool-downs, etc. you control resistance on your bike to make the pedaling as easy or difficult as you choose.

start time: 5:35 pm - 6:20 pm, duration: 45 minutes. high intensity interval training is a challenging conditioning class. it includes 20 second bouts of high intensity training followed by 10 seconds of rest 8 times, which amounts to 4 minute intervals. these intervals will test your anaerobic threshold and improve athletic performance while decreasing body fat.
