Why is A Country Cat House so special?
Your cat will have her own one-or three-level condo with a view! will be able to look out over a beautiful tropical garden with a fishpond, bubbling fountain, birdbaths and feeders, and thousands of butterflies, moths, birds, lizards and frogs - all the creatures that cats most love to watch (at night, too, when our soft garden night-lights come on).
We have no barking dogs
loud noises raised voices only soft classical music, chirping birds and the sound of cascading water from our fountain. Safe and comfortable in our condo, your kitty will never be able to see a strange cat above, below or next to him or her. They'll feel secure, happy and in complete control of the environment.
Daily petting, gentle combing and massages from our loving staff.
Every day, our kitties leave the condos to enjoy frolics, toys and treats in our custom-designed playroom. Each cat has their own specially scheduled playtime, supervised by us. Fresh air and pleasant at all times, thanks to our air exchange and ventilation system and our strict policy of changing litter boxes as soon as they're used. We don't sell cat boarding-we give you peace of mind and that is priceless!
Grooming is an additional charge depending on the length of coat and its condition.
Long-haired, deeply matted coats require meticulous, time-consuming work by our professional cat groomer, literally cutting mats out hair by hair. He does it at the cat's pace with understanding, love and patience.
We try to examine all cats at the time of check-in for signs of fleas or flea debris but sometimes that is not practical.
If is is a holiday time of year and we are very busy or customers are waiting in the waiting room, the examination will be postponed until we are through with the current customers...or if your cat is not in the mood to be examined after a ride in the car getting to us, we are not going to risk being bitten! That's not fun.
We will wait a little while until the kitty is calmed down and your cat will be put into a condo overlooking the garden to calm down after their ride.
Then your cat will be checked. If signs of flea debris are present, there is a mandatory bath and a charge of $15 for the service and for the comfort of your cat during its stay. We are a 'flea-free' facility. If your cat is on Advantage or Frontline, be sure to administer it before arrival or if you are expected to be away longer, bring it and we will administer it at the time you tell us it is due.
Most of our long-time customers take advantage of the opportunity to get their cats bathed while they are boarding
whether they are long or short-haired, so they are nice and clean going home...the cats are always grateful to be clean.
Boarding Charges The first day of charge is check in day regardless of what time your cat checks in
We are here from 9:00 am to 4:30 for check in.
Check-in day is Day 1.
Check Out There is no charge for the day of check out if the cat(s) are picked up before 12:00 noon
the clock rolls over to another day's charge in the computer and the staff cannot roll it back. The charges on the computer must balance, so please don't ask for a favor not to be charged for the day of check-out if you were not able to pick-up before noon. We ask for your understanding in this matter so please don't ask and put the employees in an embarrassing situation.
If you can't get to the cattery before 12:00 noon on check out day
there is a charge for that day but you have until 12:00 noon the next day to pick...and we try to make everything as convenient for you as possible. We do offer quick check-in and checkout service so you never have to wait. Everything is by pre-arranged appointment for YOUR convenience.
What does our price include?
Food Premium Science Diet, Iams, Proplan and others, or you may bring your own from home and we are happy to feed it to your kitty or kitties. There is no extra charge for giving your cat/s food from home even thought it takes more time for the staff to stop where they are in the feeding routing when they come to your cats' condo and go get their personal food. We are happy to do this for you. A very wide variety of the most popular cat 'treats' Treat time is 11 am and 3 pm...and the cats 'know' when the treat cart should be rolling across the tile!

Treat times are extremely important times in the cattery and we strictly adhere to the routine. If we are not right on time, be assured every cat in the cattery will let us know immediately!
Catnip Parties, Free Toys We find about 80% of our guests love catnip
the other 20% couldn't care less so we give them a variety of 'treats' until we find their 'favorite or favorites,' which we make a note of on their record for future visits.....unless they are on a restricted diet, are overweight, or you, the owner instructs us your cat(s) cannot have treats.
Daily individual 'Playtime'
with a member our staff in the cat-playroom. The 'Playroom' is a beautifully tiled and screened-in fresh-air room designed for the cats to run, play or take another 'nap.' It overlooks the back garden as well as the horses in training in the pastures. It is used by the staff to bond with the cats individually so they get to know each other very well. The cats also get a lot of daily personal bonding and attention in their individual condo.
Odor-Free Environment
All litter pans are exchanged upon soiling. We never have an odor since any signs of a soiled litter pan will be dealt with immediately and swiftly.
Daily Brushing and Combing
Owners tell us their cats don't even allow them to brush and comb them at home and are frequently surprised to see their cat thoroughly enjoying being brushed or combed by us. As one customer said: "Go Figure?"
Daily Monitoring of Activities and Behavior
4-Hour Care and Supervision There is always a staff member in attendance with the cats and they are continuously monitored.
When they poo or urinate in their litter pan, the pan is replaced by a clean one and their personal chart is noted whether they urinated, poo'd or both. We watch their daily food and water intake as well.. we watch what goes in and what comes out and have the experience to know and be alerted to any possible problem. We have saved many cats lives by noticing a cat who did not urinate and determined it should be seen by a vet.. for possibly, cystitis, a medical problem common to neutered males about 4 years old if they have been on a cat food at home high in ash content. (This is one of many of the extra benefits of boarding with us as opposed to hiring a pet sitter or having a friend come in and feed and change water. Just from the nature of two different businesses, we are there all the time watching the cats and have the advantage of having this knowledge that pet sitters would have no way of knowing.
We have the knowledge by constant monitoring and knowing each and every single time your cat uses the litter pan
drinks water or doesn't drink water or eats or doesn't eat. The office manager is immediately alerted if any one of these observations are out of line and the staff is always prepared to take your cat to its vet or another vet or clinic if your vet is not available. If we sense a pending problem, we don't take a chance with your precious feline child...yours is treated like our very own, and be assured we love our cats as we do our children.
You cannot replace our experience and constant monitoring of your cats behavior when you are away
with any other form of cat care. We most likely will know more about your cat's 'personal habits' than you.....which is good for 'you'!.. having the peace of mind knowing your cat is in the care of one of the nations finest cat care facilities with the most experienced cat-care specialists in the nation...and knowing you have made the best possible choice for your cat's-care.
Being left home alone all day and all night

We provide Professional Cat Grooming Services and all kinds of special services.
All grooming services are given by our Professional Cat Groomer of 20 years and are performed with patience and love.
There are no dogs on the premises so the cats are never stressed out hearing barking dogs in the background...only soft gentle music under the soft and loving touch of Manny is an expert at cat grooming. He is a long-time cat lover, cat owner and fits in perfectly with our cattery's promise of the very, very best for our feline guests.
A Country Cat House was the 'originator' of the now famous "Lion's Cut" for cats, as well as the 'Town & Country" and the "Sanitary Cut".
These 'hairdos' and haircuts for felines have now become routing across the nation with almost every establishment that groom cats.
These cuts were designed to assist owners in keeping their long-haired cats comfortable, clean and mat-free.
Long-haired cats are 'very high maintenance' and our Lions cut and Town and Country are beautiful, easy to care for and last about four or five months. The cats really love them and after their bath and cut, will 'prance' with their tail and head high when we are finished with their grooming. It is their way of saying "Thank You." We know 'cat talk'!

They are being pampered to the nth degree; they are getting gentle massaging and their skin 'cleaned'...the are being cleaned of normal household dirt, dust and oils that build up day after day, month after month...and some cats have never had the pleasure of really having clean skin because cat owners are under the impression that 'cats clean themselves'.. they can't clean themselves unless they take a dip in the pool, perhaps,.. they cannot clean their coat by 'licking'...what they do by licking is add bacteria to the bacteria that is already there from prior attempts at cleaning...their licking helps to straighten our their strands of hair, their coat. That is where 'hairballs' come from.
Cats are meticulous self-groomers but their tongue does not 'clean' their coat
it straightens out the hairs' and with long-haired cats, the moisture from their tongue and the licking creates 'matting', very bad mats that left uncared for result in developing mats so hard and strong they tighten right down to the skin. At that stage, the only solution is having the mats shave off and let the coat grow out beautifully again.
This is why we developed these wonderful haircuts for cats!
It benefits the cats because it cuts down on hairballs, makes them feel good, and they don't develop mats that left unattended can become very, very sore and painful.
Owners normally are not aware and have no knowledge that is what's happening
so 'don't' feel guilty if your cat is in this condition. Just put him/her in their cat carrier and bring him or her to us... bring them to our master cat groomer, Manny, at A Country Cat House and he will do the rest.
Prices start at $25 for kitten grooming and up for cat grooming
and haircuts (haircuts range between $45-$95.00) depending on the condition of coat and temperament of cat.

You do not have to board to use our Grooming Services.
We do not have dogs and we do not use any chemicals or tranquilizers. We groom with love, understanding, patience... do come! (Also, remember, even short-haired cats like to be 'clean down to the skin' and love the pampering. it's not just their long-haired cousins who deserves this treat! All cats of every kind enjoy feeling of being clean. After one or two groomings, they know the process and Manny, and know how good they are going to feel so they relax and enjoy the process just like you enjoy a good massage at the spa.

Our cat accommodations are spacious and meticulously maintained as is our unique cattery. Our professional and experienced staff has been with us over 15 years and have been trained to give your cat all the pampering, love and attention they need to feel right at home while you are away. We have an attendant on site 24/7 so you can go away knowing your cat is never alone!! Unlike 'complete care' complexes, cat boarding and cat care is our primary business!
